To draw, you must close your eyes and sing -  Pablo Picasso.
Note from the Artists: The Santa Barbara Perspectives drawing series began by delving into the history and beauty of Santa Barbara's architecture, transitioning from zero-point perspective to exaggerated lower and upper perspectives of the buildings. To capture the essence of a scene, I often treat my architectural drawings or paintings as a liberating exercise, breaking free from the constraints of architectural rules. In my work, strict geometrical guidelines merge with imaginative perspectives, creating art that balances the edge of subtle illusions and solid structures.

Note from the artist: This selection showcases various drawings created at different times and places that inspired me. The "Memory Palaces" miniseries emerged from my journey of finding myself between my old and new lives, bridging the past and present. The Memory Palace technique leverages our strong ability to remember familiar places. A Memory Palace is a metaphor for any well-known location you can easily visualize. Some drawings blend architectural images from my hometown, Poznan, Poland, and Santa Barbara, California, where I reside. This integration of different climates and atmospheres from these two cities created unique, imaginary places born from my personal experience, spanning from the rainy streets of a European city to a Mediterranean town with red roofs. Other drawings draw inspiration from places I've visited, such as the charming California town of Solvang, nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara Wine Country, and other captivating locales like San Miguel and New Orleans.
